B : Let's face it. It's too cut-throat these days.

  o The economy is worse now more than ever. 지금 경기가 어느때보다 좋지 않아.
  More than ever. 그 어느때 보다 더.

  o The job market is horrible to say the least. 채용시장도 정말 최악이지.
  To say the least. 정말로/조금도 과장없이. without exaggetation.과 같은 의미 입니다.

  o Big companies don't place many  ads to hire people. 대기업에서는 채용공고도 많이 내지 않아.
  Place an ad. 광고나 공고를 내다. We placed an ad in the paper. 우리는 신문에 광고를 냈어요.
Place 대신에 Put을 사용하여, Put an ad. 라고 할 수도 있습니다.

  o Some say we have to lower our standards. 어떤 사람들은 우리 보고 눈높이를 낮추라고 하지.
  Lower one's standards. 눈 높이를 낮추다. Standard를 복수로 사용 하셔야 합니다.
  You have high standards. 넌 눈이 높아.

  o I think everyone has what it takes to succeed. 난 누구나 성공할 자질이 있다고 생각해.
  What it takes. ~을 이루기 위해 요구되는 자질이나 능력. 하나의 표현으로 기억 해두시면 좋을것 같습니다. I think she has what it takes to be a politican. 그녀는 정치인이 될 자질이 충분하다고 생각해.

  o Let's face it. 현실을 직시해.
  인정하기는 힘들 겠지만, 현실을 받아들이다. 또는 직시하다. 라는 뜻의 표현입니다. Face the reality. 라고  말하기도 합니다.
  피하지 않고 정면으로 맞서다. 라는 의미로, Take the bull by the horn. 라는 표현도 있습니다.
  우리말에, 피할 수 없으면 즐겨라. 라는 말이 있는데요. If you can't avoid it, enjoy it. 라고 얘기 할 수 있습니다.
  Let's face it together. 우리 한번 부딛쳐보자.

  o It's too cut-throat these days. 요즘 경쟁이 너무 치열하다구.
  Cut-throat. 우리말에, 눈 뜨고 코 베어간다 라는 말이 있죠. 영어로는 목을 베어간다고 표현합니다. 그만큼 거칠고 험한 세상을 비유해서 표현하죠. competition is fierce. / It's too cut-throat. 경쟁이 정말 치열해.
